The project is located in the West section of the East Kunlun Mountains vein in the western part of Qinghai Province, on the southern edge of the Qaidam Basin. It is a branch of the East Kunlun Mountains vein and has a maximum elevation of 4,700 meters. It is reported that the project is the largest open-pit metal mine in Qinghai Province, the winning bid infrastructure stripping project period of 17 months, mining 17.49 million cubic meters, open-pit mining project service life of 18 years. At present, the reserves of nickel resources are about 1.1 million tons, with 217,600 tons of copper and 38,100 tons of cobalt, which is the second-largest nickel deposit in China. The potential economic value is over 80 billion yuan.
